FLIG

Tradition of brass music is linked with development of thermal springs in Daruvar. In the old inscriptions we find that the beginnings of brass music starts with immigration bohemians in this area. Saloon orchestras entertained visitors during their staying in thermae, playing in music pavilion in Julijev park. In the orchestra, apart from daruvar's musicians, had played musicians from Czech Republic, among them famous musician and composer Karel Koleta i Vaclav Řiha.

"City brass music Daruvar 1922", which is established 87 years ago, maintaines that tradition and enhanced it by organizing IInd International festival of brass music FLIG in Daruvar. FLIG is a three-day festival which maintains on the main town square and the orchestras are from Croatia, Czech Republic and Hungary. Festival will be held in the period 3rd July 2009 - 5th July 2009.
